The First Murmuring in the First Church: Acts 6:1-7

“Now in those days when the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint arose from the Hellenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were being neglected in the distribution daily. And the twelve summoned all the disciples and said, "No it is right that we stop preaching the word of God to serve the tables. Therefore, brethren, choose from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, to whom we will assign to this task. But let's dedicate ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word”. And what they said pleased the whole congregation, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicholas, a proselyte from Antioch. These put before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands on they. And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and many of the priests became obedient to the faith.”
