Then those who were with Jesus asked him, "Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?"
He replied: “The Father has already determined the time and the occasion for this to happen, and it is not for you to know. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses everywhere: in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria and in the most distant places of the earth.”
After he had said this, he was taken up in a cloud, and the disciples could no longer see him. They continued to look intently at the sky, until two men dressed in white suddenly appeared in their midst and said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there, looking at the sky? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will return in the same way as you saw him go up!”
